Welcome

Welcome to the Rawson & Perrin blog. Here you can find out what we're up to and more information about the things we make.

We might be making split cane fishing rods; traditional style floats such as Avons, Wagglers, Bobbers, Stick floats, landing nets, priests, boxes or anything else!

From time to time we may even fill you in with our own fishing conquests!

We hope you enjoy our blog.

Merry May

As you can tell, its been a good while since our last update. This has been due to workload, evening fishing trips and family duties!

We have completed a couple of lovely rods for locals including a 6' 3wt (below)  and a 5' one piece 3wt (pics to follow). As well as this there are a few more in production, including a 3 piece 7 footer and a 7'6" 5/6wt.

In addition, the warmer weather has seen many trips to the local streams - resulting in large numbers of trout and a few grayling. Most of the trout were wildy marked and in fine condition, most around the 8-12oz range with a few bigger fish thrown in and a couple of monsters lost as they leap out and shake their heads!

Last night as it was getting dark there were 20+ trout in one particular pool, throwing themselves at small sedges, resulting in a hook up almost every cast. Incredible and almost unbelievable fun. As well as the sedges, fish have fallen to black knats, hawthorns, olives and beginning to get onto the mayfly.

We're working on a few new things to add to the website too so stay tuned for coarse rods and hopefully a bit sooner, trout nets.

Cheers,
AR...
