Welcome

Welcome to the Rawson & Perrin blog. Here you can find out what we're up to and more information about the things we make.

We might be making split cane fishing rods; traditional style floats such as Avons, Wagglers, Bobbers, Stick floats, landing nets, priests, boxes or anything else!

From time to time we may even fill you in with our own fishing conquests!

We hope you enjoy our blog.

First trip to the stream...

Today gave me an opportunity to get down to a local stream that holds trout and grayling. After yesterdays 'heatwave' I thought I'd definately be in with a chance of a fish or two on the dry fly. However the cold wind had other ideas.

Me and my brother walked a good mile or so of water and saw only one fish rise - my brother made a cast to it with an Olive pattern that the trout gladly obliged to. Not a big fish but a fish all the same, and the only one of the afternoon!

Hopefully, the warmer weather will prevail and bring the trout on to the hatches of Olives and the skating Grannom.
